Cirurgia de Enxaqueca
O tratamento cirúrgico da enxaqueca e das cefaleias crônicas é um dos campos que mais evolui na cirurgia plástica. Desde a sua descoberta em 2000 pelo Dr. Bahman Guyuron as técnicas foram desenvolvidas e publicadas nos mais importantes e relevantes periódicos da especialidade.
A prevalência de Enxaqueca na população é de até 20% nas mulheres e 8% nos homens, sendo que alguns desses pacientes tornam-se crônicos e refratários aos demais tratamentos.
Quanto mais os cirurgiões plásticos aprenderem os conceitos e técnicas das cirurgias, mais os pacientes se beneficiarão e terão suas qualidades de vida melhoradas em todo o mundo. Ainda há um grande número de cirurgiões que não dominam as técnicas e poderiam adicioná-las à sua prática.
Dr. Paolo Rubez
O Dr. Paolo Rubez foi o responsável pela disseminação da Cirurgia de Enxaqueca no Brasil desde 2016 após ter aprendido as técnicas com o Dr. Bahman Guyuron através de 8 Observerships em Cleveland.
Atualmente realiza suas cirurgias em sua clínica particular além dos procedimentos estéticos mais voltados para a face.
Fundou a Academia de Cirurgia de Enxaqueca para ensinar e estimular outros cirurgiões plásticos a realizarem as cirurgias a fim de beneficiar mais pacientes com o tratamento em todo o mundo.

Dr. Totonchi is associate professor in department of surgery (plastic surgery Division) at Case Western Reserve University, He completed his plastic surgery residency in University Hospitals Case Medical Center and then continued fellowships in facial cosmetic and pediatric craniofacial surgeries at the same institution. Dr. Totonchi joined MetroHealth Medical Center in 2010 where he serves as site Director of Plastic Surgery Residency at MetroHealth Hospital, he is also Medical Director of the multidisciplinary Craniofacial Deformity Clinic (CFD).
Dr. Totonchi uses innovative technique that was introduced by Dr.
Guyuron, with whom he has been trained and involved in some of the migraine surgery
research. Dr. Totonchi gives lectures regarding migraine surgery nationally and internationally. He is active academically with research and education of residents and medical students. He is also an active member of multiple international, national, regional and local committees.
